JOB TITLE            Tool & Die Maker Entry Level
TERMS                  Full Time
SALARY/RATE     D.O.E.
WORK HOURS     Monday – Thursday 6:00-4:30 Friday 6:00-11:00 as needed for overtime

 

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Tool & Die Maker is a key role at HSI Manufacturing and the ideal candidate will have knowledge of sheet metal,
metal stamping, CNC, and EDM. Familiarity with manufacturing operations including understanding of how to build
and repair all types of dies, fixtures, machined parts and assemblies. Attention to detail and strong communication
skills are critical in our collaborative environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lay out, plan and produce the tooling required for manufacturing parts to customer specifications.
• Participate in the quoting process to support new business opportunities.
• Maintain and repair dies of all types, troubleshoot dimensional issues while recommending improvements
for increased safety and productivity.
• Develop machining and checking fixtures to support the production and quality departments.
• Identify and communicate issues with equipment swiftly to the maintenance department and make
recommendations for upgrades and/or new equipment.
• Posses a complete set of skills with all tool room shop equipment (milling, lathing, grinding, etc)
• Communicate effectively across all departments to ensure workflow is efficient.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• Completion of a Tool & Die Program from an accredited Technical College or related experience.
• EDM, Solidworks and CNC knowledge.
• Ability to communicate effectively and meet deadlines.

 

JOB TITLE            Set-Up Technician
TERMS                  Full Time
SALARY/RATE     D.O.E.
WORK HOURS     Monday – Thursday 6:00-4:30 Friday 6:00-11:00 As Needed for Overtime

 

ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Set-Up Technician should have knowledge of metal stamping and/or experience in a manufacturing
environment. Relay quality and production issues to management. Exhibit a strong attention to detail and be a
thorough communicator within all levels of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Setup brake and punch presses from 18T to 225T
• Produce parts to meet production standards (number and quality of pieces) including measuring for compliance
standards & reading and interpreting blueprints
• Capable of setting up short to medium-run stage and progressive tooling
• Setup production tooling and material feeders
• Troubleshoot causes when parts do not conform to customer specifications
• Understand the basics of production tooling and equipment
• Maintain quality and safety standards
• Maintain general housekeeping in the work area
• Ability to stand/sit up to 10 hours per day and lift up to 40 pounds
• Ability to acquire and maintain forklift license; operate a forklift in a safe and productive manner
• Perform other duties as needed to continue the operation of the shop in the most productive and efficient manner

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience
• Be able to read and interpret blueprints and job routings, GD&T a plus
• Be proficient in the use of calipers, micrometer, height gauge, gauge pins and drop through gauges
• Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently in order to derive and communicate information from
manufacturing documents
• Must be able to pass a drug screening

 

JOB TITLE                  Production Operator

ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Production Operator should have knowledge of metal stamping and/or experience in a manufacturing
environment. Exhibit a strong attention to detail and be a good communicator within all levels of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Operate production equipment of various sizes and functions such as punch presses (18T to 225T),
tappers, countersinkers, sanders, grinders, brake presses, chuckers, spot welding, etc.
• Produce parts to meet production standards (number and quality of pieces)
• Very strong eye-hand coordination required
• Ability to work independently
• Attention to detail
• Ability to read blueprints a plus
• Keep a clean area and adhere to all safety policies
• Good communication skills
• Ability to operate a forklift

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• Some manufacturing experience preferred; but not required
• Ability to complete jobs on time and meet deadlines
• Be willing to work and have a desire to learn
• Frequently required to sit; talk, hear, and use hands or fingers to handle; feel; reach
• Frequent standing and walking
• Ability to sit/stand for extended periods per day and lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
• Must be able to pass a drug screening

 

JOB TITLE                  Material Handler/Inventory Specialist/Shear Operator
TERMS                        Full Time

WORK HOURS           Monday – Thursday 6:00-4:30 Friday 6:00-11:00 As Needed for Overtime

 

ABOUT THE ROLE
Our material handler should have knowledge of sheet metal, metal stamping and/or experience in a manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will exhibit a strong attention to detail, have a sense of pride and ownership of the department, and be an
effective communicator withing all levels of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ability to differentiate different metal types and thickness.
• Ability to repeatedly lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to read a tape measure, square, dial caliper and micrometer.
• Ability to convert decimals into fractions and vice versa.
• This position will include unloading trucks and overseeing material inventory.
• This position will be responsible for shearing and preparing raw materials based on job routing direction and blueprints.
• Candidate must be detail oriented and understand the importance of inventory management.
• Willing to change tasks within the shop as workload necessitates.
• Must have basic computer knowledge and ability to send and receive email.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• Some manufacturing experience preferred; but not required
• Previous forklift experience required
• Be willing to work and have a desire to learn
• Possess a mechanical aptitude, and independently prioritize daily duties for effective time management
• Frequent standing and walking
• Must be able to pass a drug screening
